FAQ - General

  • How should I schedule my stretch session around my training schedule?

Stretch therapy works best when you time it intentionally with your training or recovery days.
    Here’s what I recommend:

3 days before a competition/meet: To prep your body, increase range of motion, and reduce stiffness.

2–3 days before a heavy training day: To enhance mobility and prime your muscles for optimal performance.

Same day or the day after a workout: To speed up recovery, reduce soreness, and restore muscle balance.

Everyone’s body responds differently, so we’ll adjust timing based on how you train and recover.

  • Why is assisted stretching beneficial for me?

Assisted stretch therapy goes far beyond what you can do on your own.
When performed with proper technique, it helps to:

Relieve muscle tension and stiffness from daily activity or training.

Improve posture and mobility, making movements smoother and more efficient.

Enhance performance and recovery by increasing circulation and reducing muscle fatigue.

Prevent injury by keeping your muscles balanced and your joints moving through a healthy range of motion.
It’s like giving your body the maintenance it needs to perform at its best — whether you lift, work long hours, or simply want to move pain-free.

  • Can I be overstretched or get injured during a session?

While this is a valid concern, the answer is no, not if it’s done correctly.
All stretches are performed within your safe and natural range of motion, guided by your feedback and breathing.
I use techniques like PNF (Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation) to gently teach your muscles to relax and lengthen, never forcefully.

You’re encouraged to always communicate how the stretch feels throughout the session.

The goal is to feel relief and release — never pain.

  • What’s the difference between assisted stretching and massage?

While both can help relieve tension, they work in different ways.
Massage therapy targets muscles through pressure and manipulation to relax tissues and improve circulation.
Assisted stretching, on the other hand, is an active recovery technique — I move your body through guided stretches while you participate through gentle breathing and muscle engagement.
It helps retrain your muscles and nervous system to lengthen properly, improve flexibility, and restore healthy movement patterns.

Think of massage as relaxation, and assisted stretching as restoration and performance.

  • How often should I come in for stretch therapy?

It depends on your lifestyle and goals:

Once a week is ideal for most clients to maintain flexibility and reduce tension.

Twice a week works best for athletes or those recovering from heavy training or physical jobs.

Biweekly or monthly sessions are great for maintenance once your mobility improves.

Consistency matters more than frequency — even one session every few weeks can make a noticeable difference in how your body moves and feels.

  • What should I expect during my first session?

Expect me to ask questions to understand your body, lifestyle, and goals.

We’ll identify your tight areas, range of motion, and any discomfort or previous injuries.

From there, I’ll guide you through a customized PNF-assisted stretching session using controlled breathing, movement, and gentle resistance to lengthen muscles safely.
You’ll leave feeling lighter, looser, and more aware of how your body moves.

Expect to relax, breathe, and let me do the work — this is your time to recover.
